Escape the Fate's new music video 'Issues'

Straight from the city of lights, Escape the Fate abolished Las Vegas with their hardcore stylings. Low and behold they have created many albums since then and it just so happens that they have made a music video from their most recent album titled "Massacre."

Here is their new video 'Issues.'

Will post full album soon.

Heavy Metal Picnic

I'm a big fan of metal documentaries. Lamb of God's Walk With Me in Hell, Metal: A Headbanger's Journey, Metal Heads... all good. Coming soon is a brand new film called Heavy Metal Picnic that I for one can't wait to see. Here is the trailer.

Mutiny Within Hunts for Drummer

Mutiny Within has recently had to drop out of their tour with Nevermore and Warbringer due to lacking a drummer. They were unable to find a solid replacement in time. If you don't know who these guys are, you should. Take a look!

Mutiny Within has posted this blog on their Myspace:
"We're sorry to say that despite our best efforts, our plans to hit the road with Nevermore this month have sadly fallen through. As many of you know, we have been looking forward to being a part of this tour and seeing all of our fans again. However, we feel that in order to deliver our best performance every night, our search for a full time drummer has to take priority. Instead of hitting the road with a temporary member again, we want to take the time to properly audition and rehearse.

We did have another drummer lined up to accompany us on this tour, but due to a slow visa process, rehearsal time was cut to an unworkable amount. Mutiny Within is not a 5 piece band and we need to find our 6th member to bring you guys what you deserve. We're so sorry to anybody who was looking forward to seeing us on this tour, but we cannot tour without a drummer. We know people will be upset and we apologize, but know that nobody will be more upset about this than we are. On a positive note, this gives us the time to work on brand new songs, which we've been looking forward to doing for some time.

If anybody knows a suitable drummer or you are yourself, then please contact us at mwdrumauditions@gmail.com. We hope you all understand this and will continue to support us. Keep checking back for further updates, thanks everyone. MW"

So help them out guys, get some drummers to audition and get them back on stage where they belong.

Once again, if you know any talented drummers or are a suitable drummer yourself, hit them up at mwdrumauditions@gmail.com.

Cheers!

Coming off their band break which started in 2008, they started up on a new Album in early 2010. 'Aqua' is their newest installment of melodic genius, and to top it off, you can stream it on their myspace. So Obviously I am going to let you download it.

KAMELOT Postpones North American tour

Kamelot postpones North American tour to wait for Roy Khan's recovery. The band said this:

"Hi Kamelot Nation.

As many of you know, Roy has fallen ill and could not make the North American tour. We have been rehearsing like madmen here in Tampa -- the band is tighter than ever and Michael from Circus Maximus is truly an amazing singer; if there is one male vocalist in this world who is on par with Roy, it is Michael! However, after today's rehearsal, we all decided that we do not feel right about doing the North American tour as anything less than a 100% Kamelot Experience. We appreciate that many fans have waited more than 2 years for new material and to see us perform together. Our new album, Poetry
for the Poisoned represents a labor of love from us, and to present it at anything less than full strength seems a disservice to all involved.

Though we will suffer financial losses on this late hour cancellation, we still feel it’s the right decision for us as a band to make – we regret disappointing all those who worked so hard to shape this tour, and especially those fans who were still so willing to come through and support us despite Roy’s absence. We are humbled by that type of support, and we sincerely hope that our return in full form Kamelot strength will be more reward for your unwavering loyalty! We will reschedule all shows in the near future, once Roy is able to return. To thank Michael for his effort, the band will still appear at the sold-out Progpower Festival, as a one off show with him and many special guest singers
from the festival. Again, we want to thank all of you for your amazing support!

Best regards, Kamelot Members"

We will be looking forward to Khan's Recovery and the North American tour to start back up when possible. Good wishes to Kahn.

Mike Portnoy leaving Dream Theater?(Album DL)

It's sad but true. Mr Portnoy, after 20 years, has decided to quit Dream Theater and take a break from the hecticness that comes along with it.

Mr. Portnoy writes:

"I am about to write something I never imagined I'd ever write:

After 25 years, I have decided to leave Dream Theater....the band I founded, led and truly loved for a quarter of a century.

To many people this will come as a complete shock, and will also likely be misunderstood by some, but please believe me that it is not a hasty decision...it is something I have struggled with for the last year or so.

After having had such amazing experiences playing with HAIL!, TRANSATLANTIC AND AVENGED SEVENFOLD this past year, I have sadly come to the conclusion that I have recently had more fun and better personal relations with these other projects than I have for a while now in Dream Theater.

Please don't misinterpret me, I love the DT guys dearly and have a long history, friendship and bond that runs incredibly deep with them, it's just that I think we are in serious need of a little break.

Dream Theater was always my baby and I nurtured that baby every single day and waking moment of my life since 1985 24/7, 365, never taking time off from DT's never-ending responsibilities (even when the band was "off" between cycles), working overtime and way beyond the call of duty that most sane people ever would do for a band.

But I've come to the conclusion that the DT machine was starting to burn me out and I really needed a break from the band in order to save my relationship with the other members and keep my DT spirit hungry and inspired.

We have been on an endless write/record/tour cycle for almost 20 years now (of which I have overseen EVERY aspect without a break) and while a few months apart from each other here and there over the years has been much needed and helpful, I honestly hoped the band could simply agree with me to taking a bit of a "hiatus" to recharge our batteries and "save me from ourselves."

Sadly, in discussing this with the guys, they determined they do not share my feelings and have decided to continue without me rather than take a breather. I even offered to do some occasional work throughout 2011 against my initial wishes, but it was not to be.

While it truly hurts for me to even think of a Dream Theater without Mike Portnoy (hell, my father named the band!!), I do not want to stand in their way, so I have decided to sacrifice myself and simply leave the band so as to not hold them back against their wishes.

Strangely enough, I just read an interview that I recently did that asked me about the future of DT and I talked about 'always following your heart and being true to yourself' - sadly I must say that at this particular moment, my heart is not with Dream Theater and I would simply be 'going through the motions', and would honestly NOT be true to myself if I stayed for the sake of obligation without taking the break I felt I needed.

I wish the guys the best and hope the music and legacy we created together is enjoyed by fans for decades to come. I am proud of every album we made, every song we wrote and every show we played.

I'm sorry to all the disappointed DT fans around the world. I really tried to salvage the situation and make it work. I honestly just wanted a break (not a split) but happiness cannot be forced, it needs to come from within.

You DT fans are the greatest fans in the world and as you all know, I have always busted my ass for you guys and I hope that you will stay with me on my future musical journey, wherever it may lead me....(and as you all know my work ethic, there will surely be no shortage of future MP projects!)

Sadly, your fearless ex-leader and drummer."

He will be missed.

In his honor, I suppose I should post an album? sure why not.

Kamelot's lead singer drops from North American Tour

After much consideration, Roy Khan(lead singer of the American band Kamelot,) has decided to drop put of the band's north American tour. It is rumored that he need's a bone marrow transplant and of course want to head home to his native land of Norway to have it done. Kamelot has gotten a replacement singer which happens to be an old friend of the band and lead singer of Circus Maximus, Michael Eriksen.

 Khan says:
"I am terribly sorry that I cannot do this upcoming tour in North-America this fall. We have our most fantastic album ever coming out in September, and the timing could have been better I guess. The band has my full and unconditional blessing to go out there and kick ass regardless, and I feel we have found a good replacement in Michael. He is a very good singer and long time friend. Be good to him! Hope to see you soon"

Coming from a fan of Circus Maximus, he fits the play style perfectly.

Fellow Norwegian  bands Enslaved and Blood Red Throne will be joining them, along with oddball Dawn of Ashes from L.A. Will be going to at least one of these shows for sure.

Andy Rehfeld

Andy Rehfeld is a youtuber with a little itch to make things in this world a little more metal. Rehfeld takes songs that aren't necessarily the metal type and add crazy drums and ridiculous guitar riffs, sometimes even does his own vocals. He does some truly innovative stuff, some of his "Radio-Disney" versions of songs will have you rolling in the floor laughing your ass off. Take a look!

Go give him a subscribe!
